Educational documentary film in Russian titled “ SCYTHIANS. Ancestors of our ancestors. The Golden Man of Issyk” was presented in January 2025.
The film about the history of the Golden Man, which is considered an invaluable heritage not only for Kazakhstan, but also for the whole world, was made by the Russian company “Gold Medium”.
Special film crew came to the Almaty region and filming took place in the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Esik”, on the territory of the archaeological complex Esik-Rakhat and in the city of Almaty.
In the film, the director of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Esik” Gulmira Mukhtarova, senior researchers of the “Esik” Museum-Reserve – Tural Tolegenov, Asel Amargazieva, former director of the Archeology Museum of the Sh.Ualikhanov Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography Roza Bektureeva, head of the “Center for Paleogenetics and Ethnogenomics” of the Institute of Genetics and Physiology Leyla Zhansugirova, and research fellow of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aliya Zhanieva shared their thoughts on the history of the Golden Man.
The staff of the Esik State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, the International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures under the Auspices of UNESCO, the Kazakh National University n. a. al-Farabi, and the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the preparation of the film.
The documentary was shown on the TV channels “Russia-Culture”, “Russia-1”.
Host and author of the idea is Gennady Zhigarev. Director is Evgeny Bezborodov, cameraman is Dmitry Antonov, producers are Gennady Zhigarev and Alexey Gorovatsky. The film’s duration is 45 minutes.
