Documentary film “Research work on the 2000-year-old Sak-Uysin royal palace as a result of joint archaeological work between Kazakhstan and China”

The State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Esik” of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been cooperating with the archaeological institute of Shaanxi Province of China since 2016.

As part of the International Strategic Program “One Belt, One Road”, joint archaeological expeditions are being conducted to the Rakhat archaeological complex.

In 2024, the Shaanxi TV News channel began filming a documentary “Results of the study of joint archaeological excavations of Kazakhstan and China of the 2,000-year-old khan’s burial mound of the Saka-Uysun period”.

The film, which took place in 2 parts, is dedicated to the results of archaeological excavations carried out over more than seven years.

On December 31, 2024, the premiere of the first part of the documentary film took place and was shown on television.

The documentary film clearly shows the progress of the joint archaeological research work of scientists from the two countries. The viewer can learn about the Saka-Uysun culture of Zhetysu, the structure of the Saka-Uysun burial mound, the nature and archaeological monuments of Zhetysu, the historical and cultural heritage and their scientific status.

We hope that the release of this documentary film and its distribution in China will arouse the interest of citizens of the eastern neighbor in the historical and cultural heritage of our country, popularize our historical heritage abroad, and activate the promotion of tourism in the region.
